The engine changes whenever the data does — a corrected date is live as soon as it is published. Editions are different: they are the dated, citable snapshots the PDF reports are cut from, and they come out on a fixed rhythm so that a document you quote in March still means something in November.
Each edition carries a digest: a SHA-256 over the observance corpus at the moment it was cut. Two artefacts with the same edition label and the same digest hold the same dates. Quote it back to us and we can tell you exactly what you were looking at.

Each edition lands somewhere in the 1st to the 7th of its month. It will not land outside that window, which is why the longest wait is always under four weeks.
