If you are doing academic work, the corpus is yours at no cost. We are not being generous — a researcher who reads the assurance ladder properly and tells us which row is wrong is worth more to us than the licence fee.
The full data shape. Every field, every assurance level, the exports, the Calendar API and the Operating Calendar. Nothing is crippled, sampled or withheld — a dataset you cannot analyse properly would defeat the point of the programme.
| Limited | Not limited |

| Scope — an agreed set of jurisdictions, sized to the project | Which fields you see |
| Duration — twelve months, renewable | Export, bulk retrieval or analysis |
| Use — research and teaching, not a commercial product | Number of calls |
Twelve months is not a countdown, it is a check-in: it is when we confirm you are still at the institution and the project is still running. Renewal is a reply to an email.
Attribution, in the work itself. Not a footnote on a slide — a
citation in the paper, the dataset description or the methods section,
naming timesys.pro and the edition you used. Record
version and db_mtime from
/v1/health when you query, and cite those.
If a reviewer asks you to justify your date sources, that is exactly the moment this is doing its job.
By hand, by a person, every time. There is no self-service form and no instant key, because "are you a researcher" is not a question a form can answer.
Send us evidence you are who you say you are — any one of:
And one paragraph on what you are studying and which places you need. That paragraph is what sizes the scope, and it is the part we actually read.
Research and teaching are free. A product is a product, whoever builds it — if the output is a service, a tool or a dataset other people use, that is a commercial licence even inside a university, and a spin-out is a company.
Republishing the corpus, or a substantial part of it, as a downloadable dataset needs a separate redistribution licence. Figures, tables and quoted dates in a paper never do. The terms in full.

A reply takes a few days. It is one person reading, which is the point.
